Q: What carrier do you use for shipping?

A: We ship via UPS.

Q: Will you ship via US Postal Service?

A: No, that option is not currently available.

Q: I live in Alaska, Hawaii or Canada. How do I return my core?

A: You can return your core via any carrier you like. We do recommend that you be sure to drain all of the fuel from the core, be sure to package the core to ensure it is not damaged in transit, and insure the core for the value owed on the invoice. To ensure you are not charged for a core that might already be in transit please contact us with a tracking number upon shipping.

Q: Do you ship to Canada?

A: Yes, we do ship to Canada.

Q: Do you ship to other countries?

A: Yes, we do ship out of the country, although other stipulations apply. Please contact a customer service representative for specific information on ordering to your country.

1998.5-2002 Dodge (VP44) FAQ

Q: Which VP44 pump is right for my vehicle?

A: Automatic or 5-speed manual would be the VP44027X, for 6-speed please contact customer service with your engine serial number, all non-Dodge vehicles all horsepower ratings please contact customer service with your engine serial number.

Q: Where is my engine serial number located?

A: The engine serial number is on the data plate on the timing gear case on the driver’s side of the vehicle. It is eight digits long and should begin with a 56 for Dodge vehicles. VP44 Engine Serial Number Location

Q: What do the different engine codes mean and which refer to a bad VP44 pump?

A: Codes do not definitely tell you that an injection pump is bad, but rather act as a starting point for diagnosis. After a code is read a mechanic can perform additional tests to determine the injection pump is bad. You may also have a pump sent in for inspection and tested on a test bench.

Q: What is the difference between the stock lift pump and the FASS Fuel System?

A: The stock lift pump we have is the original pump that mounts on the engine (not to be confused with the Dodge in-tank retrofit). FASS offers a direct replacement pump that mounts on the side of the engine (DDRP) in addition to high performance fuel pumps that replaces the stock system. They are available in a number of different options (either a pump, single filter option, or a system with a fuel filter and water separator). Please contact a customer service representative to help determine which option is right for your vehicle.

Q: How do I install my VP44 injection pump?

A: Our suggested installation instructions can be found by clicking here.

Q: What special tools do I need to install my VP44 pump?

A: The only special tool needed is a Gear Puller. The gear puller is available on TheDieselStore.com by clicking here. You may also use a T-puller. You should be able to get one anywhere automotive tools are sold. For a complete list of tools please refer to the installation manual above.

Q: Who rebuilds the VP44 pump and what parts are replaced?

A: We are a Bosch Authorized Four-Star rebuilder and have trained technicians who rebuild the pumps at our Bolingbrook, IL location. All of the electronics, the housing, and the piston are replaced as well as any other parts that are damaged or show signs of wear.

Q: What is the warranty on the VP44 pump?

A: The VP44 pump comes with a one year-unlimited mile warranty as long as you replace the lift pump. Also, tampering with wires can cause premature pump failure. If the wires are spliced, tapped or cut the pump is not warrantable. Please see our full warranty policy by clicking here.

Q: What is the core policy?

A: The core policy can be viewed by clicking here.

Q: I am installing a set of Marine Injectors (BOS0432193635) in my 1998.5-2002 24 Valve Dodge Cummins, and the injectors I pulled out of the engine look nothing like the Marine Injectors.

A: This is a common mistake. If the part that you are holding in your hand is much smaller than the Marine Injector and have not pulled the valve cover you are most likely looking at the injector connector tubes that connect the metal Fuel Line from the VP44 injection pump to the actual injector. Please pull the valve cover; the injectors are beneath. If you have removed the valve cover, please call us with your Engine Serial Number and invoice number to confirm you have the correct injectors for your application.

FASS FAQ

Q: What do the part numbers mean?

A: The first number represents the model or series. The HPFP is only the fuel pump. The 95 series and 150 series are both complete systems with a fuel filter and water separator attached. The 95 series has a smaller base with smaller filters, while the 150 series has a larger base, larger filters and more readily available aftermarket filters. The second number represents the gallon per hour flow rate of the system. The number after the dash reflects the specific application that the system is designed for.

Q: Which GPH is right for my vehicle?

A: Traditionally the 95gph system is for stock vehicles to moderate horsepower upgrades. This would be commonly be used for vehicles under 500 horsepower. The 150-200 GPH is for moderate to extreme horsepower upgrades. This would be used for vehicles at 450 horsepower or above. Please contact one of our customer service representatives with any questions concerning your specific application.

Q: How do I install my FASS Fuel System?

A: A detailed installation manual for your FASS system can be found on our website under the “Tech Docs” tab for that item.

Q: Where is the connector and fuel supply pump on the 1998.5-2002 5.9L Dodge?

A: The fuel supply pump connector is #1 in the picture (right above the stock fuel supply pump. It is located on the driver’s side just above the starter or at the 5 o’clock position from the filter head if you are looking at the engine from the side. Fass
