M&D Distributors' Core Policy


What is a core?

Many remanufactured products have a core charge associated, and you are eligible to return the old part to receive a refund on the core charge. All cores must be like-for-like and include every part and piece received with your new replacement product, and must be "as removed from engine." Click here to view our core acceptance guide.

All cores must be in rebuildable condition to receive a full refund of the core charge. Some conditions affect the amount of credit issued, and the manufacturer determines the credit amount in these cases:

  • Fire damage
  • Water damage
  • Broken
  • Disassembled
  • Missing parts and/or pieces
  • Other damage at manufacturer’s discretion


Upfront core charge

An upfront core charge is applied to remanufactured products. Once your core is returned, you'll receive a credit to your account on all acceptable cores (see conditions above), usually within 48-72 hours of receipt.


Core return label

Need a shipping label for your core return? Email cores@mddistributors.com to request one. The cost of the label will be deducted from your core credit.


Core charge timeline

Cores are eligible for return up to 12 months from the invoice date. Cores returned after 12 months will be accepted and credited at M&D's discretion.


Core return procedure

  1. Email cores@mddistributors.com to request an RGA (Return Goods Authorization) before returning your core. Include the RGA with your return shipment so we can identify the return and issue credit quickly.
  2. Drain all fluids, oil, fuel, etc., from the core before shipping.
  3. Place any plastic plugs or caps received on your new item back onto the core before shipping to prevent damage.
  4. Wrap the core in plastic to prevent leakage and denial by the shipping carrier.
  5. Keep the tracking number for your return shipment in case you need to follow up.
