Two hard fitment gates apply:

Match the number on your old turbo. BorgWarner builds more than one S300-family turbo for the DT466E and I530E. Each one is matched to its own set of Navistar and Garrett turbo numbers, and they are not interchangeable. We also stock a sister S300G built for a different set of Navistar numbers, and an earlier S300 for 1993-1997 engines. Read the BorgWarner, Navistar or Garrett number on your old turbo’s nameplate and match it before ordering.

Wastegated, not variable geometry. This turbo uses a pneumatic (air-operated) wastegate. Some 2003-and-later DT466 engines use a variable-geometry turbo with an electronic actuator, which is a different part. If your old turbo has an electrical connector on the actuator, this is not your turbo.

Installation: Pre-fill the bearing housing with clean engine oil and prime the oil supply line before first start. Fit new oil supply and drain gaskets, and clear any oil or debris from the intake and charge-air system left by the old turbo. Do not use liquid sealant on oil or exhaust connections. Follow the engine manufacturer’s torque specifications.
