Three hard fitment gates apply:

Diesel only. Caterpillar specifies that copper-lead bearings are not suitable for 3500 Series gas engines. Do not install in G3500 engines.

Long stroke. This bearing is for long-stroke 3500 engines. Standard-stroke engines use a different rod bearing.

Standard size. For crankshafts with standard rod journals. Reground journals need undersize bearings — Caterpillar lists copper-lead undersizes 463-3908 through 463-3911 and 463-3951.

Quantity: one pair per connecting rod — 8 for a 3508, 12 for a 3512, 16 for a 3516.
