Compatibility / Fitment:
Fits Caterpillar 3406E and C15 engines with a single turbocharger that use Caterpillar turbo 196-5951 or one of the earlier numbers it replaces.
Two hard fitment gates apply:
Single-turbo engines only. The C15 ACERT uses a two-stage series turbo system with different turbochargers, and this turbo does not fit it.
Turbo number. Caterpillar used more than one single turbocharger on the 3406E and C15. Match the Caterpillar or Garrett number on the turbo you are removing to this part or the numbers it replaces before ordering.
Installation: Clear the intake and charge-air system of any debris from the old turbo, pre-fill the bearing housing with clean engine oil before the first start, and do not use liquid sealant on turbo connections.
